house to get a golf club? Why not go back in the
house to get the extra keys?

*Why is he allowed to keep canceling the police
interviews? Do we all have that right?

*Was a blood test done after the crash testing
for alcohol and or drugs?

*NEVER piss off a woman.

My pick for news story of the day

NMSU scientists to study horse saddles <~~Click

Some excerpts:

The school is conducting the first scientific study of western saddles. Researchers are using a pad with sensors to map out the pressure levels different parts of the saddle put on the horse.

My take:
We've been riding horses for how many thousands of years?
The economy is in what kind of shape?
Where is this money for this study coming from please?
Does anyone really care?
Will it actually change anything?
How much will the 'new and improved' saddles cost and what
happens if no one has the money to pay for them because they
are TAXED OUT?
How do I get to be an 'expert'? Cuz that's what I want
to be when I grow up!

I would also like to point out how this state is millions
of dollars in the red, yet the governor's entertainment
budget is about three times that of last year's. Also their
House met recently about the deficit and proposed an immediate
tax on alcohol, cigarettes, soda and income to make up for it
all. The proposal failed however and instead the governor
has decided to slash the education budget, NM is already
48th in the ranks of education! Hmmmmmmm.

Tired

Am tired of hearing about trans fat.

Am tired reading about how sugar, cigarettes, soda, and
all the good stuff is bad for you.

Tired of hearing about the correct way to raise my kid,
from some 'expert' who obviously knows more than I
do about it, cuz she's on television and I'm not.

REALLY tired of all the hype about the swine flu.

SICK and tired of listening to 'experts' on anything!

Tired of having someone try to jam their particular
religion down my throat.

TOTALLY tired of people jamming their A) Republican
views or B) Democratic opinions up my butt.

OH MY GAWD I'm tired hearing about Michael Jackson!!

100% tired of hearing about Springfield's deficit.

Completely tired hearing about how the economy is
rebounding and all will be hunky dory soon.

What it means to be a daddy

Notice he does not get mad, at first
he is like 'omg' but the second his
baby turns to face him he smiles broadly
and hugs her close. What a great dad!

Through my eyes

I think Google is interesting. You can find out a lot about
something from googling and utilizing other search engines.

I am also learning that negative posts about an area or a
high profile person get deleted on a regular basis by the
various Ozarks websites which the comments were made in.
While I can certainly understand this if the comments were
threatening in nature, or downright flaming, I'm not sure
I "get" what the purpose of a public comment feature is on
a website if they delete criticism upon any level?

Personally, I do not make negative posts in a public forum
online. But rather I silently read. A lot. And observe.
A lot. And form opinions. A lot!

I think a person or a business can learn a lot from negative
feedback, or criticism. It's not necessarily a bad thing!
I don't understand why the need to only allow 'happy' rah
rah posts, or pats on the back?

I've seen bloggers with high public profiles ranting and
raving on personal blogs, then when there is a negative
comment they come unglued and threaten a poster that they
know the commenter's ip addy. Like that will get them
anywhere - an ip addy is not of much use to a ranting
blogger.

I've seen other local forums that have moderators that feel
that anything goes - including names and libelous comments.
It's a little bit of the local coffeehouse 'gossip'. Again
I am silent and quietly reading - taking some of it in
with a grain of salt, committing a little of it to memory
for future reference.

But for normal criticism and non threatening, non name
calling comments, I feel everyone is entitled to an
opinion and we all can learn from this, especially the
business or person who is being criticized - we do not
live in a world where we can delete the true feelings
of people as easily as we can delete the comment section
of a story or post.

Hot off the presses

Here is your Tuesday evening news:

*The Iowa State Fair is to have a Michael Jackson statue made of butter.
(I am so not commenting on this one).
*In NM, a woman was killed when she was in the process of packing her
gun for a move. The death was ruled accidental. (Better not comment
on this one either).
*A cooking class in the Ozarks teaches kids to stay away from junk food.
(Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight).
*A panel of unnamed experts has recommended to the FDA to lower the dosage
in acetaminophen because people over abuse the stuff. (This means
we have to take twice as much to get the same affect, thus buying
more of the product...get it? I am going to change my career. I want
to go back to school and become an expert).
*Advocates (another thing I want to be when I grow up...'What are you
taking in school? Advocacy 101..and you?') are calling for an 'Ultra fast
train between St. Louis and Chicago. (They forgot to mention how they
plan to pay for it. They also forgot to indicate, uhm, WHY).
*Parents in Sweden are raising their child as a 'unisex' child, not
as a boy or a girl. It's an experiment. (Again the question comes
up - why?).
*New Tide removes stains without pre-treating. You can buy it
now before it hits store shelves. (I'm so relieved).
*The Atlanta Braves are undefeated when Jeff Francoeur
wears his lucky turkey underwear. (You need help Jeff,
but I'm not the one to call).

In the news....

No need to turn on the tv tonite, I'll tell you what

the news is:

1. PETA is mad at the President for swatting that fly. *I wish

someone would swat PETA people.*

2. There were tornadoes in Nebraska and Minnesota. * It is maddening

to watch the news guys (who are as unprofessional as PETA) peeing

their pants on air over their excitement over the structural damage.

One can only hope that their own house got hit, we'll see how

exciting it is then!*

3. The recession is wrecking friendships. *no kidding*

4. In the housing bust you can find great remodeling deals. Remodeling

contractors are hungry for business because they don't have the

workload they used to carry. *Okay, if it makes you feel better

go ahead and believe this. I'd like to show you some great property

for sale while we're at it. Remodeling materials have skyrocketed

in price with no justifiable reason.*

5. Jon and Kate are planning a special announcement. *Who are Jon and Kate?*

6. It's hot here, possibility of a storm tomorrow. Maybe. They don't

know for sure. Possibly. They'll know better tomorrow. *Duh so will I!*

7. The Senate apologizes for slavery and segregation. *sigh...again?*

8. The mayor of Nixa (near Springfield) got a DUI. This comes out a

few weeks after the principal of one of the Nixa schools got a DUI.

If you live in Nixa, you are to preach about forgiveness. If you

don't, then you want to hang the guy.
